At Roaring Forties Outfitting our mission is to provide world-class, free range back country hunting adventures in the breathtaking wilderness of New Zealand. Specialising in Red Stag, Bull Tahr and Chamois, we are dedicated to delivering authentic, ethical and unforgettable experiences.
The experiencE
At Roaring Forties, we intentionally limit the number of hunts we carry out in our season to align with the prime rut periods for red stag, chamois and tahr. By timing our expeditions to coincide with these peak seasonal windows— when game activity is at its highest — we offer hunters a more immersive and rewarding hunt.
Brought up hunting from a young age, Tom Mckay has been scaling the the New Zealand wilderness for the past 15 years.
Catching the bug of exploring and hunting the wild landscape of New Zealand for the unique critters it holds has lead to some breathtaking and satisfying adventures - adventures that need to be shared.
Being in the hunting guiding industry has provided great opportunities for meeting like minded people and is a very valuable part of the job for Tom. Embarking on adventures with new people is exciting, it is hard to beat the thrill of working hard towards the pursuit of a new species and being successful.
After the New Zealand season, Tom travels to Canada to guide big horn sheep hunts in the Northern Rockies of Alberta.
